Brodie Park, Tennis, Courts,

The Tennis Courts at Brodie Park are almost ready to play on after they underwent a total refurbishment. The old clay courts have now gone and in their place are new all weather courts.

The official opening is this Saturday, 17th September, and Judy Murray and the Tennis Scotland team will be on hand  to deliver a fun session for children from the local schools from 10am till noon.

Back in early July the refurbishment of the courts was announced with a visit to the courts by Andy Murray and the GB Davis Cup Team as well as Judy Murray. Thousands turned up that day to see the World No.4 player amid chaotic scenes.
Saturday promises to be a more organised affair.

Abbey Drain

As part of the Doors Open Day weekend in Renfrewshire a major dig around Paisley Abbey's Medieval Drain took place.

The dig in conjunction with Renfrewshire Local History Forum and Guardian Archaeology Ltd uncovered what is believed to be a medieval oven in one trench while in the other trench a cobbled footpath was unearthed. Both of these discoveries further enhanced our understanding of the drain and its construction.
